CALIFORNIA (April 26) – The Vulcans closed the regular-season with a sweep of a doubleheader against Edinboro on Senior Day at Lilley Field in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Friday afternoon, winning 9-1 in Game 1 before posting a 7-1 victory in Game 2.

• The California (PA) softball team improves to 22-18 this season with a 20-11 mark in league play.

GAME 1
STATS
• Junior
Caleigh Rister (13-8) earned the complete-game victory after allowing one run (earned) on four hits with zero walks and seven strikeouts over 5.0 innings (60 pitches).
• Senior designated player
Alyssa Rose posted a two-run double, two runs scored and one walk.

Kaitlyn Achtermeier and sophomore right fielder
Mikayla Linkous both finished with two RBI and one run scored.
ACTION
• The Vulcans scored nine unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth on four hits, three walks, two hit by pitch and one error.
• Cal scored the initial run on a sacrifice fly before senior catcher
Britney Wilson posted a two-out RBI single.
• Linkous followed with a two-run triple before scoring on a bases-loaded hit by pitch.
• Rose and Achtermeier then delivered back-to-back, two-run doubles in the inning.
• Edinboro managed to score on a two-out RBI single in the top of the fifth.
• Fighting Scot starter Macy Sral (5-11) was saddled with the loss after surrendering nine runs (all unearned) on four hits and five walks in 3.2 innings (100 pitches).

Shayna Postler tallied two hits and one run scored.
• Rose belted a three-run homer and posted a complete-game victory.
• She yielded one run (earned) on just one hit with four walks and eight strikeouts over 7.0 innings (122 pitches).
ACTION
• Edinboro took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a two-out RBI double before Cal scored six runs in the fourth inning.
• Wilson collected an RBI single before Rister registered a bases-loaded, two-run single with two outs.
• Rose then followed with a three-run homer, her team-leading sixth of the year.
• The Vulcans added to the lead with a two-out RBI single by Rister in the bottom of the sixth.
• Edinboro starting pitcher Lauren Bush (6-11) suffered the loss after allowing six runs (all earned) on nine hits in 3.2 innings (65 pitches).

• Cal opens play in the PSAC Tournament on Wednesday, May 1, in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. The tournament field and pairings will be finalized this weekend.
