EDINBORO, Pa. (April 22) – The California (PA) softball team scored a combined 25 runs while splitting a doubleheader at Edinboro in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action on Monday afternoon, dropping an 11-9 contest in Game 1 before rolling to a 16-1 run-rule victory in Game 2.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans move to 18-17 overall with a 16-11 record in league play.
• The Fighting Scots stand at 13-23 this season behind a 10-14 mark in divisional action.
• Cal has split four of the last five doubleheaders at Edinboro dating back to 2019.
GAME 1
STATS
• Junior
Caleigh Rister posted three hits, two RBI and two runs scored.
• Senior second baseman
Jordan Pinneri finished with two hits, two RBI and one run scored, while senior catcher
Britney Wilson collected two hits and three RBI.
• Junior first baseman
Kaitlyn Achtermeier added two hits, including a solo homer, and two runs scored.

Alyssa Rose (6-10) suffered the loss after allowing four runs (all earned) on six hits and five walks in 4.2 innings of relief (101 pitches).
ACTION
• Cal scored three runs with two outs in the top of the first on a two-run double by Pinneri and an RBI single by Wilson.
• The Fighting Scots countered with four runs (three unearned) off Rister in the bottom of the inning.
• The Vulcans then tied the score in the second on a solo homer by Achtermeier, her third of the season.
• Edinboro responded with three runs in the bottom half before adding two runs in the third to build a 9-4 lead.
• Cal rallied in the fourth inning with five runs on seven singles, including a two-run single by Wilson to tie the score.
• The Fighting Scots reclaimed the lead in the fifth on a two-out single before first baseman Lucy Higley belted a solo homer in the sixth.
• Edinboro starting pitcher Lauren Bush (6-8) earned the victory after yielding three runs (all earned) on seven hits in 5.0 innings (77 pitches).

• Cal scored at least 15 runs for the third time in the last 15 games.
• Rister tallied five hits, three RBI and four runs scored
• She also earned the complete-game victory (11-7) after surrendering one run (earned) on six hits in 5.0 innings (69 pitches).
• Rose finished with three hits, including a three-run homer, five RBI and two runs scored.
• Achtermeier collected two hits, including a three-run homer, and scored twice, while sophomore right fielder
Mikayla Linkous registered two hits, two RBI, one run scored and one walk.

Brianna Sersevic totaled two hits and two runs scored.
ACTION
• The Vulcans raced out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning on five hits, one walk and one error.
• Rister and Rose collected back-to-back RBI singles before Rose scored on a fielding error.
• Following a pitching change, Linkous posted an RBI single before Achtermeier followed with a three-run homer.
• Rose tallied an RBI double in the second before Cal added five runs in the third inning.
• Rister registered a two-run single with the bases loaded before Rose delivered a three-run homer, her fifth of the spring.
• Edinboro scored its lone run in the bottom of the third before Cal countered with three runs in the fourth.

Shayna Postler and Pinneri posted back-to-back RBI singles with two outs before Linkous later added another RBI single.
