SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (April 13) – The Vulcans split a pair of one-run games on Saturday afternoon at Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play, winning 3-2 in Game 1 before dropping a 2-1 contest in Game 2.

GAME 1

Caleigh Rister (8-5) earned her third-straight win after allowing two runs (both earned) on seven hits in 7.0 innings (125 pitches) with seven strikeouts.

Carlena Fiorilli collected two of the team's three hits and scored one run.
ACTION
• The Vulcans scored twice in the top of the first on just one hit with senior second baseman
Jordan Pinneri scoring on a wild pitch and Fiorilli then scoring on a fielder's choice.
• Slippery Rock cut the deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the inning on a two-out RBI double.
• Cal loaded the bases in the fourth before senior designated player
Alyssa Rose scored on a sacrifice fly.
• The Rock answered with an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth before stranding a runner in scoring position in both the sixth and seventh innings.

• Cal was limited to one run on three hits in the contest.
• Rose (4-7) was saddled with the loss after surrendering two runs (both earned) on three hits and five walks in 6.0 innings (109 pitches).
ACTION
• Slippery Rock stranded the bases loaded in the first before taking a 1-0 lead in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk with two outs.
• The Rock added to the lead with a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fifth, 2-0.
• Cal cut the deficit to 2-1 in the seventh when junior shortstop
Brianna Sersevicc scored on a ground-out before stranding the game-tying run on third base.
• Slippery Rock starter Kelsi Anderson (4-8) earned the win after allowing one run (earned) on three hits and seven walks in 6.0 innings (132 pitches).
