WASHINGTON, Pa. (April 10) – The California (PA) baseball team scored multiple runs in four innings while rolling to an 11-1 victory against Wheeling at Wild Things Park in non-conference play on Wednesday afternoon.

• The Vulcans improve to 21-8 this season behind a 13-4 mark in home games.
• The Cardinals fall to 18-13 overall while ranking second in the Mountain East Conference (MEC) standings.
• Cal has won all three meetings against Wheeling this year after opening the spring with a pair victories over the Cardinals in February.

Ryan Callahan posted three hits, three RBI and three runs scored while hitting cleanup.

Ikon Jones finished with two hits, one RBI and two runs scored after entering the game as a pinch-runner.

Jason Nuttridge tallied two hits and three RBI in the victory.

Santino Marra collected two hits and one run scored, while freshman shortstop
Caleb Collins scored twice.

Luke Treloar (2-2) earned the win after tossing 2.1 scoreless innings of relief.

Evan Ables worked 4.0 innings (63 pitches) and allowed one run (earned) on one hit while making his first career start.
• Junior
Aidan Ruiz logged 1.2 innings of scoreless relief in his first action since March 20 and redshirt freshman
Ryan Sluk posted 1.0 inning of scoreless relief on Wednesday.
ACTION
• Wheeling stranded runners on second and third in the first inning before Cal left the bases loaded in the bottom of the first.
• The Vulcans took a 3-0 lead in the third inning behind a two-run triple by Callahan and later a two-out RBI single by Nuttridge.
• Wheeling scored one run in the top of the fourth before Cal scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-1 lead.
• The Vulcans added to the lead with three runs on three singles and two walks in the sixth inning, 8-1.
• Callahan and Jones collected back-to-back RBI singles with two outs before Jones scored on a wild pitch.
• Cal stretched the lead to 11-1 after tallying three runs on two singles, one walk and two hit by pitches in the eighth.
• The Vulcans scored twice on back-to-back hit by pitches with the bases loaded before the final run scored on a fielder's choice.
• Wheeling starter Carson Ashby (0-1) suffered the loss after allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits in 2.1 innings (46 pitches).
• The Cardinals used seven different pitchers in the contest with no reliever working more than 1.2 innings.
