CALIFORNIA (Nov. 9) – The No. 18 Vulcans earned the outright Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West title on Saturday afternoon after registering a 28-14 victory against Edinboro in divisional play on Senior Day at Adamson Stadium.
NOTES
• California (8-1) extended its winning streak to eight games behind a 6-0 mark in divisional action.
• The Vulcans finished PSAC West play undefeated for the first time since 2016, and fifth time overall in 60-plus years (2007-09, 2016, 2024).
• Cal has earned at least a share of the divisional title four times under head coach
Gary Dunn (2016, 2021, 2022, 2024).
• Junior wide receiver
Eric Willis III led the team with six receptions and 120 receiving yards, his fifth time reaching the century mark this year.
• Sophomore
D'Avay Johnson made a pair of touchdown receptions in the victory.
• Senior quarterback
Davis Black finished with 183 passing yards on 12-of-20 attempts with three total touchdowns (one rushing), plus rushed for 48 yards.
• Sophomore defensive back
Keith Charney paced the team with eight tackles (six solo) and recorded a pair of forced fumbles and one pass break-up.
• The Vulcans collected 12.0 TFL and 6.0 sacks on Saturday with five players totaling at least 2.0 TFL.
• Senior linebacker
Armani Caraballo registered 2.5 sacks, while junior defensive lineman
Julien Laventure finished with 3.0 TFL and 2.0 sacks.
• Cal also forced Edinboro to lose possession on downs five times.
GAME ACTION
• The Vulcans took a 7-0 lead on the opening possession of the game on a five-yard touchdown pass from Black to Johnson with 8:52 left in the first quarter.
• Cal added to the lead midway in the second quarter on a 34-yard touchdown catch by Johnson at the 8:46-mark.
• The Vulcans took a 14-0 lead at halftime after allowing the Fighting Scots to manage only 87 yards of total offense on nearly 30 plays.
• Edinboro started the second half with a 43-yard rush before scoring on a nine-yard touchdown pass with 12:15 left in the third quarter.
• The Vulcans countered on the ensuing drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown by Black at the 9:12-mark, 21-7.
• The Fighting Scots scored a touchdown on the second play of the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to a 21-14 margin.
• Midway through the fourth quarter, sophomore junior
Jaishon Hawkins posted an interception on a fake punt near midfield.
• Cal then extended the lead with a 20-yard touchdown run by McKan with 7:52 left to play.
• Charney later registered a forced fumble on back-to-back drives and the Vulcans collected three sacks on the final drive of the game by the Fighting Scots.

• The Vulcans face nationally-ranked Kutztown (10-0) in the PSAC Championship on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Adamson Stadium with kickoff at 12 p.m.
