Vulcans suffer loss at Pitt-Johnstown

California held to sub-0.50 hitting percentage; Rugiero, Droneberger tied for team lead in kills

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (Nov. 8) – The Vulcans were downed by a 3-0 count (25-13, 25-16, 25-13) at Pitt-Johnstown, one of the top-10 teams in the region, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play on Friday evening.

NOTES
• California (3-18, 0-12) was held to a sub-0.50 hitting percentage for the second-straight match.
• Junior Elisa Rugiero and senior Allie Droneberger tied for the team lead with four kills, while a trio of players finished with three kills.
• Freshman Morgan Johnson and junior Adrianna Favata tallied nine and seven assists, respectively.
• Johnson and sophomore Kay Lindenfelser tied with a team-leading six digs on Friday.
• Seniors Natalie Beer and Sophia Johnson both collected three blocks in the loss.

NEXT
• Cal closes out its five-match road trip tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 9, when it faces IUP in league action at 6:30 p.m.
