AMHERST, N.Y. (Nov. 26) – In a meeting of top-15 teams in the country, the No. 10 Vulcans suffered a 111-77 loss at No. 14 Daemen (N.Y.) on Tuesday evening in non-conference play.
NOTES
• California (6-2) was playing its first road game in nearly two weeks.
• The Vulcans have played five teams this season that appeared in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
• Daemen (5-0) remains undefeated this year following an upset over neighboring NCAA Division I program Buffalo in exhibition in October.
• Junior
Donald Whitehead, Jr. posted his third-straight, 20-point game and sixth of the season.
• He scored 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including four-of-six from long range, and added three assists.
• Freshman
Duncan Moy set a season high with 13 points behind four-of-eight from beyond the arc and collected two rebounds, two assists and one block in 24 minutes.
• Classmate
Jordyn Buchanan tallied 11 points, three rebounds and three assists while making his second-straight start.
• Sophomore
Dalman Alexander led the team with five rebounds and scored seven points.
• The Vulcans trailed by an 18-16 margin at the 11:32-mark of the first half before the Wildcats mounted a 31-9 run over nine minutes to claim a 49-25 lead with 1:14 left before the break.
• Daemen made 12-of-18 attempts from the floor during the run compared to Cal shooting just 2-of-11.
• The Wildcats posted an 18-6 run early in the second half to extend their lead to a 69-35 margin with 14:18 left to play.
• The 111 points are the most allowed by Cal in over two decades.
• The Wildcats shot nearly 60 percent (41-of-69) from the floor, including 12-of-27 (44.4 percent) from three-point territory.
• Daemen finished with a 42-23 rebounding advantage behind 15 offensive rebounds.
• The Wildcats scored 52 points in the paint and their bench accounted for 60 points in the win.

• The Vulcans return to action on Sunday, Dec. 1, when they travel to face Wheeling in non-conference action at 3 p.m.
• Cal will be playing its first road game in the series with Wheeling since Dec. 30, 2009.
