WACO, Texas (Nov. 11) – After extending its winning streak, the California (PA) football team moved up one position to No. 17 in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25 poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Vulcans improved to 8-1 overall following a 28-14 home victory against Edinboro on Senior Day. Cal stretched its winning streak to eight games to match its longest winning streak in the last four years. The Vulcans also extended their home winning streak to seven games, which dates back to Week 3 of the 2023 campaign.
Cal continues to be one of three schools from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in the top 25-poll. Kutztown (10-0) maintained its highest position in program history at No. 3 after rolling to a 31-13 home victory to close divisional play with an unblemished record for a consecutive year. Slippery Rock (8-1) slipped one slot to No. 11 following a 38-20 win at home after scoring 28 points in the second half.
Additionally, Super Region One features a pair of teams in the national poll this week. Charleston (W.Va.) (10-0) maintains its position at No. 6 after scoring nearly 70 points in a road victory to repeat as outright Mountain East Conference (MEC) Champions. Findlay (9-1) jumped two spots to No. 22 after extending its winning streak to four games.
The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Nov. 16, in a meeting of top-25 teams when they face Kutztown in the PSAC Championship at Adamson Stadium.
