CALIFORNIA (Jan. 10) – With the score tied with just under three minutes remaining, the California (PA) women's basketball team scored eight-unanswered points to claim a 61-53 win over Seton Hill at the Convocation Center on Wednesday evening in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans improve to 10-4 this season behind a 5-3 mark in conference action.
• The Griffins fall to 7-7 overall with a 4-4 record under first-year head coach Maeve Gallagher.
• Cal has won the last seven meetings in the series with Seton Hill, plus has posted victories in seven-consecutive games at the Convocation Center dating back to the 2016-17 season.

Dejah Terrell registered a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds (five offensive).
• She shot 9-of-16 from the floor and added two blocks and two steals while playing 35 minutes.

Allycia Harris scored 11 points behind seven-of-eight from the free-throw line and collected four rebounds and two blocks.

GAME ACTION
• Seton Hill missed its opening seven shots before holding a 5-4 lead at the 5:37-mark of the first quarter.
• The Vulcans then mounted a 17-2 run behind 11 points by Bermudez to close the quarter with a 21-7 lead.
• The Griffins scored 10-consecutive points midway through the second quarter to cut the deficit to 25-21 with 3:04 left before halftime.
• Cal later took a 31-25 lead at the break with both teams shooting under 35 percent from the floor.
• Seton Hill posted a 12-4 run over four-plus minutes in the third quarter to claim a 39-37 lead at the 2:05-mark.
• The Vulcans scored six of the last eight points in the quarter to reclaim the lead by a 43-41 margin.
• Cal stretched the advantage to 51-45 with 5:03 left to play in the fourth quarter.
• The Griffins countered with an 8-2 rally to tie the score at 53-53 with 2:50 remaining in regulation.
• Cal then held Seton Hill scoreless for the remainder of the game, forcing three missed field goals and four turnovers.
• The Vulcans converted 14-of-18 free-throw attempts (77.8 percent) in the second half.
• Cal forced Seton Hill into a season-high 28 turnovers on Wednesday.
• Guard Christiane Frye, a two-time All-PSAC West selection, was limited to a season-low six points on 3-of-16 shooting.
