Jonathan Thrush recorded a top-10 finish while competing in a field 400-plus runners on Saturday afternoon, as the Vulcans competed in the Brown Race at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.
TEAM NOTES
• The California (PA) men's cross country team totaled 796 points to finish 29th overall in the team standings.
• Central Connecticut earned the invitational title with 94 points behind a pair of top-10 runners.
• Shippensburg placed second in the team standings with 163 points, narrowly ahead of both George Washington (Washington, D.C.) at 165 points and Columbia (N.Y.) at 166 points.
• A total of 47 teams posted scores during the Brown Race of the Paul Short Run, including three PSAC programs.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Thrush placed ninth overall with a time of 25:13.5 over the 8K course.
• He posted an average mile split of 5:04.5 on Saturday.
• Senior
Noah Bernarding finished second on the team and in 45th place at the event with a time of 25:45.7.
• Columbia senior Jacob Ireland won the race by over six seconds with a time of 24:36.8.
• A total of 409 entries competed in the race hosted by Lehigh.

• The Vulcans return to action on Saturday, Oct. 7, when they compete at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at Schenley Park.
