Larson (Weyburn, Saskatchewan/Weyburn Comprehensive School) was a starting outfielder and pitcher at Cal from 2002-05.

He helped the Vulcans capture the 2004 PSAC Championship plus earn at least a share of two PSAC West titles. Larson received the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in both 2004 and 2005 to become the league's first and only two-time male recipient of the prestigious honor. He was selected the 2004 PSAC West Athlete of the Year and earned All-PSAC West laurels as both an outfielder and starting pitcher twice in his career. A two-time Academic All-American, the Saskatchewan native finished his career with a .375 batting average while collecting nearly 200 hits.
