Pfister earns weekly conference honor

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (April 11) – After reaching the NCAA qualifying mark over the weekend, California (PA) sophomore Logan Pfister (Fishertown, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) was tabbed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Pfister registered an outdoor personal best in the high jump on Saturday while winning the high jump at the Ed Fry Invitational hosted by IUP. He cleared a mark of 2.04 meters (6-8.25 feet) on his second attempt at the height after opening the event at 1.83 meters (6.0 feet) and then 1.93 meters (6-4.0 feet). Pfister was the lone entry at IUP to clear heights of 1.93 and 2.04 meters over the weekend.

A three-time All-PSAC honoree in the high jump, Pfister ranks first on the league's outdoor performance list in the event. He is one of only two entries in the Atlantic Region, which is comprised of three conferences, to have the NCAA standard this spring. Pfister repeated as the indoor league champion in the high jump this winter, plus set the indoor school record in the event with a height of 2.10 meters (6-10.75 feet).

Pfister earned the weekly conference honor for the second time in 2023. becoming the first field athlete in recent program history to garner the weekly accolade multiple time in a career.

The Vulcans return to action this weekend when they compete at the Bison Outdoor Classic from April 14-16 hosted by Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
