Harris sets season high with 22 points, posts double-double; Cal was unable to convert a three-pointer

MANSFIELD, Pa. (Dec. 30) – The No. 13 Vulcans struggled from the field on Saturday afternoon while dropping a 65-54 contest at Mansfield in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The California (PA) women's basketball team drops to 8-3 overall with a 3-2 record in league play.
• The Mountaineers improve to 3-7 this season behind a 1-4 mark in conference action.
• The Vulcans were playing their first road game in the series since the 2016-17 campaign.

STATS
• Junior Allycia Harris set a season high with 22 points on 9-of-19 shooting and added 10 rebounds (six offensive).
• She has registered three double-doubles this year while playing 25.3 minutes per game.
• Junior Iyahnna Williams finished with 11 points, three rebounds and four steals in 24 minutes off the bench.
• Sophomore Alicia Young posted eight points, two rebounds and two steals on Saturday.
• Redshirt senior Dejah Terrell collected 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

GAME ACTION
• Mansfield held a 14-11 lead with 1:50 left in the first quarter.
• The Vulcans scored seven of the final nine points in the opening quarter to take an 18-16 advantage.
• Cal scored the opening two baskets of the second quarter before Mansfield made back-to-back treys to tie the score at 22-22 with 7:54 left before halftime.
• The Mountaineers closed the second quarter on a 14-4 run to take a 36-28 lead at the break.
• The teams combined for six ties in the first half.
• Mansfield took a double-digit lead at 42-32 with 6:24 left in the third quarter.
• The Vulcans countered with an 11-2 run to cut the deficit to 44-43 with 57 seconds remaining in the quarter.
• Mansfield responded with an 11-4 run to seize a 55-47 advantage at the 4:57-mark of the fourth quarter.
• Cal worked the deficit to 55-50 with 3:19 left to play before Mansfield went on a 10-2 rally to seal the victory.
• The Vulcans finished the game shooting 34.3 percent (23-of-67) from the field after going 0-of-13 from long range.
• Mansfield held a 48-34 rebounding advantage while Cal scored 40 points inside the paint.
• Mountaineer senior Jasmine Hilton, a 2023 All-PSAC First-Team selection, posted a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds (six offensive) in the win.
