MANSFIELD, Pa. (Dec. 30) – Led by 33 points from sophomore
KJ McClurg, the California (PA) men's basketball team earned an 88-76 win at Mansfield in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action on Saturday afternoon.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans improve to 11-0 this season behind a 5-0 mark in league play.
• Cal has mounted its best start to a season in at least four decades with 11-consecutive victories.
• The Mountaineers fall to 3-7 overall with a 1-4 record in conference action.
STATS
• McClurg scored 33 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including five-of-eight from beyond the arc, an 8-of-11 from the free-throw line.
• He has registered a trio of 30-point games this season and leads the PSAC in scoring at 22.2 points per game.
• McClurg also posted four rebounds, three assists and two steals while playing 39 minutes.

Bryson Lucas finished with 18 points, six rebounds and five blocks on Saturday.

Jermaine Hall, Jr. tallied 12 points, eight rebounds (four offensive) and two assists in the victory.

Antoine Arnett added 10 points and four rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench.

Zyan Collins collected nine points, seven rebounds and six assists at Mansfield.
• He also surpassed Seth Martin (1999-01) for No. 11 on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,461 points on Saturday.
GAME ACTION
• Mansfield scored eight of 12 points early in the first half to take a 15-13 lead at the 12:50-mark.
• The Vulcans then rallied off 13-consecutive points to seize a 26-15 advantage with 9:50 left in the first half.
• The Mountaineers countered with a 14-3 run to tie the score at 29-29 at the 5:57-mark.
• Cal then stretched the lead back to eight points at 40-32 with 3:38 remaining before taking a 46-41 lead at the break.
• The Vulcans scored 10-straight points early in the second half to take a 56-43 advantage at the 14:41-mark.
• Cal later mounted a 12-1 rally behind 10 points by McClurg to claim a 70-48 lead with 10:41 remaining.
• The Vulcans led by over 20 points with two minutes left to play before the Mountaineers scored the final nine points of the game.
• Cal finished the game with a .509 field-goal percentage (29-of-57) – its sixth-straight game shooting over 50 percent.
• The Vulcans also converted 22-of-29 attempts (75.9 percent) from the free-throw line on Saturday.
