CALIFORNIA (Dec. 10) – Led by a highly efficient shooting performance, the No. 24 California (PA) men's basketball team rolled to an 89-50 win over Chestnut Hill (Pa.) in its home-opener at Hamer Hall on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans improve to 7-0 this season while playing teams from four different conferences.
• The Griffins fall to 1-9 overall under first-year head coach Andrew Radomicki.
• Cal and Chestnut Hill have played in each of the last two seasons after previously not meeting since the 2011-12 campaign.
• The Vulcans were playing in Hamer Hall for the first time since Feb. 1, 2020.

Zyan Collins led the team with a season-high 19 points while also collecting three rebounds, two blocks and three steals.

Bryson Lucas posted 15 points on six-of-nine shooting and added five rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block.

GAME ACTION
• Cal posted a 13-0 run over a five-minute span midway through the first half to seize a 25-11 lead at the 9:14-mark.
• The Vulcans stretched their lead to as many as 25 points in the first half after scoring a trio of unanswered three-pointers to take a 45-20 lead at the break.
• Cal extended the lead to over 30 points at 61-30 with 12:18 left in the second half.
• The Vulcans later mounted a 24-7 run over seven minutes to claim an 87-39 lead with 3:35 remaining.
• The Griffins finished the game on an 11-2 rally to work the deficit to 89-50.
• Cal registered its best field-goal percentage since Jan. 22, 2022.
• The Vulcans finished the game shooting at a 60.4 clip (32-of-53) and converted 10-of-20 (50.0 percent) from long range.
• Cal collected 19 assists in the victory and scored 42 points from inside the paint.
• Chestnut Hill junior Neal Hall led the team with 16 points on 7-of-15 shooting and added five rebounds.
