ERIE, Pa. (Oct. 27) – Despite a career-high 24 kills by sophomore
Elisa Rugiero, the California (PA) volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss (25-19, 19-25, 25-20, 30-28) at division-leading Gannon on Friday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.
RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans fall to 7-11 overall with a 2-9 mark in league play.
• The Lady Knights extend their winning streak to 10 matches while improving to 19-3 this season behind a 10-1 record in divisional action.
• Gannon has won the last 12 meetings in the series against dating back to the 2016 PSAC Tournament.
NOTES
• Rugiero finished with 24 kills while hitting at an impressive .354 clip.
• Her 24 kills are the most in a match since Danielle Hayes tallied 24 kills in four sets against West Chester on Sept. 24, 2016.
• Rugiero has posted at least 20 kills in a match twice this season.
