BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 21) – Led by a trio of top-25 runners, the Vulcans placed fifth in the team standings at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Saturday morning.

The California (PA) men's cross country team finished with 180 points at the league meet hosted by Bloomsburg. The Vulcans posted consecutive top-five finishes at the PSAC Championships for the first time since the 2013-14 seasons. Shippensburg cruised to its first league title since 2017 after finishing second at the event four times in the previous five seasons. The Raiders totaled 26 points while boasting four of the top-five individual runners on Saturday. Slippery Rock placed second in the team standings with 65 points and IUP finished third with 105 points.

Senior Noah Bernarding earned All-PSAC First-Team status after registering the best finish of his career. He placed 10th overall in a field of nearly 150 runners with a time of 26 minutes, 46.8 seconds. Bernarding, who was the overall leader at the three-kilometer marker, used a split of 3:07.6 over the final 1,000 meters to climb from 13th place to 10th overall. The Cochranton, Pennsylvania, native previously earned All-PSAC Second-Team honors in each of his three appearances at the league meet with his best finish being 19th place as sophomore in 2021.
