Men's Soccer falls at Slippery Rock, 3-0

Vulcans, Rock split season series with home team winning each time; Visco finishes with seven saves

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (Oct. 18) – The California (PA) men's soccer team started the second round of divisional play with a 3-0 loss at Slippery Rock on Wednesday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.

RECORDS/SERIES
• The Vulcans drop to 3-10-1 this season behind a 1-5 record in conference play.
• The Rock improve to 4-5-4 overall with all four wins being at home, plus now hold a 3-3 mark against divisional opponents.
• Cal and Slippery Rock split the season series this fall after the Vulcans previously earned a 2-0 home victory on Sept. 27.

GAME ACTION
• The Rock raced out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute on an unassisted goal by Altor Jorde, his sixth of the season.
• Slippery Rock added to the lead at the 17:47-mark on a goal by Luke Gildea with an assist for Jorde.
• The Rock scored its final goal of the game in the 51st minute with Arturo Pla Hernandis tallying his team-leading eight goal of the year off a feed from Jorde, his fourth point of the contest.
• Sophomore AJ Visco finished with seven saves while facing 17 shots on Wednesday.
