Sarah Moehring (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) and freshman
Kaylin Burkey (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) combined for 40 kills, as the Vulcans completed a 3-2 comeback victory (16-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-23, 19-17) at IUP in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Southwest play on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team improves to 11-8 this season behind a 6-5 mark in league action. Meanwhile, IUP falls to 5-15 overall with a 4-7 mark in conference play after dropping a pair of divisional matches over the weekend.
Moehring set a career high with 21 kills on a .392 hitting percentage and tallied 16 digs for her 10th kill/dig double-double this season. Burkey finished with 19 kills on a .311 clip and added three digs and two aces against the Crimson Hawks. Sophomore
Sarah Benson (Canton, Ohio/Jackson) directed the offense with 49 assists and added 13 digs, marking her 13th match with an assist/dig double-double.

Jensen Silbaugh (Warren, Ohio/Lakeview) matched a season high with 26 digs, while freshman
Shelby Alloway (Dunkirk, Ohio/Hardin Northern) tied a career high with 20 digs on Saturday. The Vulcans also tallied 11 service aces in the match, led by Alloway with five aces. Junior
Madison Kline (Hasting, Pa./Cambria Heights) controlled the net on Saturday after collecting three blocks, while four other player tallied at least two blocks against the Crimson Hawks.
The Vulcans return to action on Thursday, Oct. 31, when they travel to face Gannon in Erie, Pennsylvania, starting at 7 p.m.
