CHEYNEY, Pa. (Sept. 23) – The California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team completed its weekend road trip with a 3-0 victory (25-9, 25-9, 25-9) at Cheney on Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action.
With the win, the Vulcans improve to 8-5 overall with a 2-0 record in league play. Meanwhile, Cheyney remains winless this year at 0-7 and 0-2 in conference action.
Freshman
Maddie McGee (New Concord, Ohio/John Glenn) contributed 10 of the team's 38 kills, while junior
Halle Murdock (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) and sophomore
Rachel Priore (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) both posted six kills. Senior
Taylor Solo (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) led the team with 19 assists.
Cal U tallied a staggering 20 service aces with nine players collecting at least one ace. Junior
Marisa Fanelli (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) recorded five aces and McGee added four aces on Saturday. Fanelli also paced the team with eight digs in the sweep over the Wolves.

Madison Kline (Hastings, Pa./Cambria Heights) and junior
Lois van Schaik (Naarden, Netherlands/St. Vituscollege) chalked up the only block assists in the match.
Cal U continues PSAC Crossover play next weekend, starting on Friday, Sept. 29, when it hosts Kutztown at 7 p.m.
