WSSU opened the bottom of the inning with a double before Cal U issued an intentional walk. However, third baseman Landon Steiner delivered a walk-off double to give the Rams a 7-6 victory.

Junior shortstop Danny McGrath (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, while sophomore first baseman Chris Wastchak (Peters Twp., Pa./Peters Township) collected a pair of hits and one RBI. WSSU reliever Jordan Cummings (3-1) earned the win after yielding one run (earned) in 1.1 innings of work.

Cal U took a 3-0 lead in the top of the third on a two-run single by McGrath and he later scored on an error. The Rams answered with four runs in the fourth, including a leadoff homer by Steiner, to take a 4-3 lead before the Vulcans tied the game in the fifth with an RBI single by Wastchak.

The Vulcans reclaimed the lead in the sixth when sophomore second baseman Garrett Brooks (Connellsville, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) scored on an error after leading off the inning with a single. WSSU countered with two runs on three hits, one walk and one sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to take a 6-5 lead.
