CALIFORNIA (Dec. 3) – The No. 3 Vulcans forced 36 turnovers while earning an 83-30 win over Cheyney in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
With the victory, the California University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team improves to 8-0 overall with a 3-0 mark in league action. The 30 points are the fewest allowed by the Vulcans since surrendering 28 points against Molloy in November 2010. Meanwhile, the Wolves fall to 0-3 this season, all in conference play.

Shatara Parsons (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) led the team in scoring for the second-straight game, finishing with 15 points on 6-of-11 from the field. She also added two rebounds and a team-high four steals in the win. Senior
Miki Glenn (Bridgeport, W.Va./Bridgeport) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 assists, while also finishing with a team-high eight rebounds.

Seairra Barrett (Center Twp., Pa./Central Valley) added 12 points and five rebounds on Saturday after going five-of-nine from the field. Senior
Lana Doran (Northamptonshire, England./Barking Abbey) posted 11 points, four rebounds and two steals against the Wolves. Sophomore
Abbey Sporio (Elizabeth, Pa./Australia/Elizabeth Forward) scored eight points off the bench, while classmate

DJ Hahn (Warren, Pa./Warren) each tallied six points.
The Vulcans opened the game on a 12-2 run after forcing six turnovers and extended the lead to 16-4 on a jumper from Sporio with 3:13 left in the first quarter. Cal U extended its lead to 34-11 with 3:29 remaining before halftime after Glenn hit a pair of free-throws to complete a 16-3 run that began at the end of the first quarter. Cheyney went on a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to 17 points at the 1:33-mark before Cal U countered with a 6-0 run of its own, capped by another pair of Glenn free-throws, to take a 40-17 lead at halftime.
Cal U extended its lead to 58-21 midway through the third quarter behind 14-unanswered points. During the run, three Vulcans each tallied four points and forced five turnovers. With most of the starters coming out of the game by the end of the quarter, Cal U stretched its lead to 45 points at 72-27 following its only three-pointer of the game from Suckling. Parsons tallied nine of her 15 points in the third quarter. The Vulcans only made four field goals in the fourth quarter, but they held the Wolves to just three points after making one field goal.
The Vulcans finished the game shooting 45.6 percent (31-of-68) from the floor and converted 80.0 percent (20-of-25) from the free-throw line. In comparison, the Wolves shot at just a 19.4 clip (12-of-62) from the field after making just 13.8 percent (4-of-29) in the second half. Cal U held a 51-45 rebounding advantage and scored 45 points off turnovers. Additionally, the Vulcans scored 30 points off the bench and held Cheyney under 10 points in three of the four quarters.
Sophomore Briana Hedgepath led Cheyney with seven points and six rebounds, while classmate Ceani Beaden also collected six rebounds.
Cal U continues PSAC Crossover play tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 4, when it faces Millersville at the Convocation Center with tipoff at 1 p.m.
