Men's Soccer plays to tie at Seton Hill, 3-3

GREENSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 28) – Despite three first-half goals, the Vulcans battled to a 3-3 double-overtime tie at Seton Hill on Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.

With the tie, the California University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team moves to 3-3-1 overall and 1-0-1 in league play. Meanwhile, Seton Hill, which entered on a five-game winning streak, stands at 6-1-1 this season with a 3-0-1 mark in conference action. The Griffins have scored a combined 23 goals over their last six games.

The Vulcans took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when freshman Cory Kuzilla (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) scored his first career goal off a feed from junior Chris Hunkele (Hampton, Pa./Hampton). Seton Hill evened the score just over two minutes later before junior Jeffrey Kyei (Tübingen, Germany/SIT Tübingen) recorded a pair of goals in just over a three-minute span. Kyei collected an unassisted goal in the 31st minute before tallying his second-straight multi-goal game at the 33:07-mark, scoring off an assist by junior Tyler Woolum (Gahanna, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln). Late in the second period, the Griffins tied the game at 3-3 late with a pair of goals in less than 30 seconds.

Junior Shane Donovan (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks East) finished with five saves in over 80 minutes of action, while classmate Mitch Mack (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) made one save in nearly 40 minutes on Saturday. Seton Hill finished with a slim 13-11 edge in shots, while posting a sizeable 11-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Cal U returns to non-conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 1, when it travels to face Shepherd at 3 p.m.
