EDINBORO, Pa. (Sept. 29) – The Vulcans extended their winning streak to 10 matches on Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 victory (19-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-19) at Edinboro in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.
With the win, the California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team improves to 15-2 overall with a 5-0 mark in league play. The Vulcans have won four-straight matches against the Fighting Scots, including a 3-0 sweep in the second round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Meanwhile, Edinboro falls to 5-12 this season with a 3-3 record in conference action.

Kelly Fromknecht (Erie, Pa./McDowell) registered her fourth double-double this year, finishing with 13 kills on a .524 attack percentage and 22 assists. Classmate
Meghan Franz (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) posted 13 kills on 28 attempts for a .429 hitting percentage and fellow senior
Ana Almeida (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Promove) tallied nine kills in the victory.

Cal U returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when it travels to face Wheeling Jesuit at 7 p.m. The two teams split their meetings last year with the Cardinals earning a 3-1 win in the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship.
