CALIFORNIA (Sept. 16) – In a meeting of two NCAA Tournament teams from last season, the No. 4 Vulcans claimed a 1-0 win on Friday afternoon against Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play at the new Soccer Facility.
With the victory, the California University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team improves to 3-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in league play. The Vulcans, who have registered shutouts in all three games this year, also extended their unbeaten streak against The Rock to five games. Meanwhile, Slippery Rock drops to 2-1-1 this year with a 0-1-1 mark in conference action.

Cal U finished the game with a 23-9 advantage in shots after allowing Slippery Rock only one shot attempt in the second period. The Vulcans also maintained an 8-2 edge in corner kicks in the victory.
