ERIE (Sept. 11) – The California University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 contest at Mercyhurst on Friday evening in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action. With their third-straight loss, the Vulcans fall to 3-3 on the season and 0-3 in league play while the Lakers move to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in conference action.

Mercyhurst scored its first goal of the game in the 28th minute before junior forward Billy Colton added two additional goals in the first period. The Lakers added an insurance goal in the second period to finish with a 4-0 victory.

The Lakers, who were whistled for 18 fouls and four yellow cards, held a 20-13 advantage in shots in the game.

Junior goalkeepers Derek Yobbi (South Park, Pa./South Park) and Charlie Dagnal (Carnegie, Pa./Carlynton) combined to make three saves on the 20 shots in the loss.

Cal U returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 16, when it hosts Lock Haven for a 4 p.m. contest.
