CALIFORNIA (Sept. 30) – In a rematch of last year's NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship match, the No. 17 California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team claimed a 3-0 victory over Edinboro University at Hamer Hall on Tuesday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play.
The Vulcans under first-year head coach
Stephanie Burner improve to 20-1 overall and remain in first place in the PSAC West standings at 6-0. The Fighting Scots fall to 12-4 overall and 4-1 in PSAC action.

Ludmila Amaral (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Afonso Schimidt) led Cal U with 12 kills and a .524 attack percentage on 20 attempts. Fellow outside hitter

Bridget Bielich (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) added seven and five kills, respectively.

Renata Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Ateneu), who was named PSAC West Athlete of the Week earlier in the day, finished with 27 assists. Junior libero

Julie Paronish (Hastings, Pa./Northern Cambria) paced the defensive effort with 18 and 11 digs, respectively.
Cal U has now won the last 11 meetings against Edinboro, including four matches last season. The win also gives the Vulcans 20-plus victories in five-straight seasons (2004-08).
The Vulcans return to action at the PSAC Crossover Tournament on Friday, Oct. 3, when they face Millersville University at 7 p.m. in West Chester, Pa. Cal U then will play the host Golden Rams and East Stroudsburg on Saturday, Oct. 4.
