CALIFORNIA (Sept. 27) – Juniors Ludmila Amaral (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Afonso Schimidt) and Joanna Nist (Rockwood, Pa./Rockwood) combined for 20 kills to lead the No. 13 California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep (25-11, 25-21, 25-12) of Kutztown University on Saturday afternoon at Hamer Hall.

Nist record a team-high 12 kills, hitting at a .435 clip, totaling 10 digs and collecting two assists. Amaral added eight kills on 15 attacks, committing one error and hitting .467 in the match. Junior setter Renata Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Ateneu) added 34 assists, four blocks, six kills and seven digs, while libero Marta Hodge (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg) steadied the Cal U defense with a team-high 24 digs in the victory.

The Vulcans (18-1) return to action later today, Saturday, Nov. 27, when it plays host Lock Haven University at Hamer Hall. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
