WEST CHESTER, Pa. (Oct. 3) – The No. 17 California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team claimed a 3-0 victory (25-21, 25-18, 25-19) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover match against Millersville University on Friday.

Junior Joanna Nist (Rockwood, Pa./Rockwood) led Cal U with 18 kills, while Ludmila Amaral (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Afonso Schimidt) added nine kills. Junior Marta Hodge (Fayetteville, Pa./Chambersburg) led the defense with 14 digs while senior Mallory DeMarco (Cranberry, Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) and sophomore Julie Paronish (Hastings, Pa./Northern Cambria) had 13 digs each.

Junior Renata Silva (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Ateneu) guided the offense with 25 assists.

The Vulcans move to 21-1 overall while the Marauders drop to 4-9 on the season.

Cal U continues crossover league play tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 4, with a 10 a.m. match against West Chester University and a 2:30 match-up against East Stroudsburg University.
