Cal U defeats W. Va. Wesleyan, 3-0

CALIFORNIA (Oct. 25) – Senior Shakir McCoy (Huber Heights, Ohio/Tecumseh/ Wayne) and junior Mike Luecke (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) combined for three goals in the Vulcans' 3-0 Senior Day victory over West Virginia Wesleyan College at Roadman Park.

With the win, the California University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team improves to 10-6-2 overall. West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 10-7-1 overall.

McCoy put the Vulcans on the scoreboard at the 44:06-mark with his fifth goal of the season (unassisted). McCoy later scored in the 58th minute off a penalty kick to increase the lead 2-0. Luecke scored his 16th goal of the season, tying his career-high set last year, at the 73:39-mark off an assist from senior Evan Picard (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland).

Sophomore goalkeeper Derek Yobbi (South Park, Pa./South Park) earned the victory in net for the Vulcans, posting eight saves in 90 minutes of play.

Cal U returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 29, when it hosts Pitt-Johnstown at 3 p.m.
