Women's Soccer falls to Lock Haven, 2-0

CALIFORNIA (Oct. 18) – Despite holding an 18-6 advantage in shots, the Vulcans suffered their first loss in the last nine games when they dropped a 2-0 contest to Lock Haven University at Roadman Park on Saturday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West action.
 
With the loss, the Vulcans fall to 9-4-3 overall with a 4-4-2 mark in divisional play. Meanwhile, the Bald Eagles move to 7-8-0 overall and 4-7-0 in league play.
 
Freshman Carly D'Orsaneo gave Lock Haven the eventual game-winning goal in the 38th minute with an assist from junior Kellie Weiger.  Freshman Janine McCarthy secured the lead in the 75th minute with an assist from sophomore Alissa Gamelier.
 
Senior goalkeeper Erin Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn Hills) suffered the loss for the Vulcans after making two saves on six shot attempts in 90 minutes of action.
 
Cal U continues divisional play on Wednesday, Oct. 28, when it travels to Edinboro, Pa. to face Edinboro University at 3:00 p.m.
