Smith opened the fall season by finishing in third place at the Glade Spring intercollegiate on Monday. He carded a three-over 219 (75-71-73) and posted the second-lowest score in the second round with a one-under 71. Smith finished just one stroke behind a two-way tie for first overall while playing in a field of 90-plus golfers.
