Young averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.0 block per game, as the Vulcans opened the year with a pair of victories over MEC programs. She shot 53.3 percent (16-of-30) from the floor while playing 29.0 minutes per game. Young set a career high with 22 points on 9-of-18 shooting and added four rebounds, one block and three steals on Friday in a 95-74 victory over West Liberty. The Sto-Rox product then posted 17 points on 7-of-12 from the field, eight rebounds, one block and three steals in an 81-56 win against Wheeling on Saturday.
