Means reached the NCAA provisional standard in the 60-meter dash while opening the season on Friday at the Youngstown State Icebreaker. He placed third in the preliminaries of the event behind a pair of NCAA Division I entries with a time of 6.88 seconds. Means also recorded the fastest time in the PSAC over the weekend in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line fifth overall at 21.91 seconds.
