McKan helped anchor the top rushing performance by California in 15 years on Saturday, as the Vulcans opened PSAC West play with a 49-7 victory over Edinboro. He finished with 117 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 15 attempts for an average of 7.8 yards per carry. McKan became the first player to score three rushing touchdowns in a game since Week 9 of the 2019 campaign. Overall, the Vulcans posted 357 rushing yards on 44 attempts with four touchdowns against the Fighting Scots.
