Tumpak recorded a pair of top-five finishes over the weekend, as the Vulcans competed at the VMI Winter Relays. He placed third overall in the 800-meter run with a time of 1 minute, 55.25 seconds while running in the heat that featured the individual winner from host VMI. Tumpak also was the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay in Virginia and posted a split of 50.6 seconds, as the team posted a time of 3:24.83.
