PREVIEW I Atlantic Regional Rankings

The men's championship race returns 15 of the top-25 runners from the 2016 PSAC Championships. Shippensburg returns as the reigning-PSAC Champion following its first title since 2010 and ranks first in the latest regional rankings. Edinboro sits second in the recently released Atlantic Region Rankings and returns four of the top-18 runners. IUP rounds out the top three in the region. Each of the top-three teams in the region competed last weekend. Shippensburg won the Carnegie Mellon Invitational while competing alongside 20  schools, including Pitt. Edinboro placed 11th overall out of 31 teams from across the country at the GLVC Conference Crossover in Illinois and IUP finished fourth at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational without its top two runners.

The Raiders swept both the PSAC and regional titles last year and will be relying on Alex Balla, Calvin Conrad-Kline, Robert Moser and Dominic Stroh. The Fighting Scots return the runner-up from the league championships last year in Bryan Geeher, while Corey Wefing (11th), Jon Gusew (15th), Jared Hallow (17th) and Gene Baritot (18th) all placed in the top 20 of the field. IUP boasts a top-five finisher from last year in Austin Cooper, who placed fourth overall.

Other contenders in the race include Steve Maine, who placed eighth and helped Kutztown finish fifth in the team standings, Jeremy Parsons of Slippery Rock, who has been the team's top runner this season after placing ninth at last year's meet. The host Vulcans will be led by sophomore Brett George.
