A former three-sport athlete at both the scholastic and collegiate level, Anita Onufer enters her second year as assistant coach with the Vulcans in the 2020-21 campaign.

Onufer was a member of the lacrosse, tennis and swimming teams while at Saint Vincent, a NCAA Division III program. She competed on the swimming team during the 2013-14 season as a freshman before focusing on lacrosse and tennis.

In her lone year as a swimmer, the Bearcats placed third at the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships for a consecutive season despite the field of teams nearly doubling in size. Onufer placed third in the finals of the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.07 seconds, plus she registered the fastest time in consolation finals of the 50 freestyle after touching the wall in 25.13 seconds.

Onufer was a member of the tennis team at Saint Vincent for four seasons and was a member of the lacrosse team for three years. In tennis, she posted a combined 10 wins in singles play over her last two seasons and the Bearcats finished as high as third at the PAC Championships during her college career. Onufer appeared in over 35 games during her lacrosse career and tallied nine points on six goals and three assists.

A native of Pittsburgh, Onufer was a three-year state qualifier and a team captain in swimming while attending Serra Catholic. She also received all-conference status in volleyball and competed on the track & field team.

Onufer completed her bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in organismal biology and a minor in psychology from Saint Vincent in 2017. She later received her master's degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare administration from Seton Hill in 2018.

In addition to her swimming responsibilities, Onufer also serves as the head tennis coach at Cal U after spending two seasons on the coaching staff at fellow Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)-member Seton Hill.
