    Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach
A former pitcher for the Vulcans, Sonia Petrosoniak returns to the California University of Pennsylvania softball program as a volunteer assistant coach in 2011.

Petrosoniak was in the circle for the Vulcans from 2007-10 and helped the program win back-to-back Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West titles and make three appearances in the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Super Regionals in 2010.

She finished her career with a 29-14 record and 1.64 ERA in 80 appearances, which is tied for seventh-most in school history. A two-time All-PSAC West pitcher, the Ontario native also ranks among the all-time leaders with 205 strikeouts in over 300 innings in the circle.

Petrosoniak also was a standout in the classroom, as she is one of only four student-athletes in Cal U history to twice be selected an Academic All-American.

She earned her undergraduate degree in international studies last May and is currently pursuing a master’s of arts degree in teaching.
