Tori Paterra-Pomilio

A four-time NCAA All-American at Miami (Ohio), Tori Paterra-Pomilio enters her first season as an assistant coach at Cal U in 2019.
 
Paterra-Pomilio earned All-America status in the javelin with the Redhawks from 2011-14 and was the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Champion in the event as both a freshman and senior. Shortly after her collegiate career, she placed 10th overall in the javelin at the 2014 USA Track & Field Championships in Sacramento, California.

A product of Elizabeth-Forward, Paterra-Pomilio set the school record in the javelin at the 2014 MAC Championships with a distance of 55.91 meters (183-5 feet) to eclipse the previous league record set in 2006. She later placed third at the NCAA Championships in the javelin with a mark of 55.54 meters (182-3 feet) to mark her highest career finish at the national event.
 
Paterra-Pomilio won the conference title in the javelin as a freshman by 27 feet with a heave of 48.99 meters (160-9 feet) before earning Second-Team All-America status. In 2012, she finished seventh at the NCAA Championships to garner First-Team All-America laurels with a season-best mark of 49.67 meters (162-11 feet). Paterra-Pomilio again received Second-Team All-America honors as a junior in 2013 with a top-25 finish at the NCAA Championships.
 
A three-sport athlete at the scholastic level, Paterra-Pomilio earned all-state honors in track & field as both a junior and senior. She finished as the state runner-up in the javelin and placed fourth overall in the shot put at the 2010 PIAA Championships. Paterra-Pomilio set the school record in both the shot put and javelin while starring with the Warriors and broke the WPIAL record in the javelin with a distance of 49.60 meters (162-9 feet).
 
Paterra-Pomilio, whose father played in the NFL, was chosen as the Miami All-Sports Female Athlete of the Year following her senior season.
 
Paterra-Pomilio earned her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Miami in 2014 before completing a master’s degree in 2015 from Cal U in performance enhancement and injury prevention. She also obtained a master’s degree in health and physical education from IUP in 2016.
