A recent hurdler for the Vulcans, John Franklin, Jr. begins his first season on staff at California (PA) in 2025.
Franklin qualified for the PSAC Championships in the 60-meter hurdles and 110-meter hurdles a combined nine times during his college career from 2019-24. He scored at the league meet in the 110 hurdles in back-to-back years before establishing a personal best in the 60 hurdles at the 2023 PSAC Championships.
A native of Pittsburgh, Franklin earned his bachelor's degree in finance with a minor in management from PennWest in 2023 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration. He received both the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award and PSAC Scholar-Athlete honors while with the Vulcans.
