A graduate of the program, Ryan McCauley enters his third season on the Cal U coaching staff and will be working with the defensive line for the second-straight year.

McCauley worked with one of the top freshmen in the PSAC last season in defensive lineman Gerald Brown. He ranked fifth on the team, and paced the defensive line, with over 45 tackles and also registered 5.0 TFL while starting nine games as a true freshman.
In 2017, McCauley served as the coach for tight ends and h-backs. The positions were comprised strictly of freshman and redshirt freshman with Dylan Stallings and Jack Vyborny combining for nearly 20 receptions and 200 yards with each player scoring one touchdown.

McCauley played h-back and tight end for the Vulcans from 2013-16. He totaled almost 200 receiving yards and scored three total touchdowns in his career, including a rushing touchdown on his only career carry.

As a senior in 2016, McCauley helped Cal U capture its first PSAC Championship since 2008 and advance to the third round of the NCAA Playoffs. Cal U also led NCAA Division II in scoring offense at 49.6 points per game that year.
McCauley was named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy as a senior. The award recognizes seniors who are significant contributors to the team and demonstrate leadership and citizenship, while maintaining a minimum of a 3.20 GPA.

A product of Seneca Valley, McCauley earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in business from Cal U in 2017. He then completed his master’s degree in business administration the following year.
