A record-setting quarterback for the Vulcans, Noah Mitchell enters his first year on staff at California (PA) in 2024.
Mitchell started all 43 games in his career from 2018-22 and set virtually every career passing record at Cal. He was tabbed the PSAC Freshman of the Year in 2018 and later was selected the PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Year following his junior campaign. Mitchell was a two-time All-PSAC West honoree and also garnered post-season accolades from both D2CCA and Don Hansen in 2021.
A native of Ohio, Mitchell shattered the all-time school record with 10,788 passing yards while becoming one of only 10 quarterbacks in PSAC history to eclipse 10,000 yards. He also finished his career with 88 touchdown passes, 897 completions, 1,489 attempts and 11,055 yards of total offense – all school records.
Mitchell set a career high with 2,937 passing yards as a junior and finished among the top 15 in the country in passing yards per game. He also tied his career best with 25 passing touchdowns while boasting a 64.1 completion percentage (252-of-393). Mitchell helped the Vulcans reached as high as No. 3 in the country after opening the year with eight-consecutive victories before finishing the year No. 21 in the AFCA Top 25 poll.
As a senior in 2022, Mitchell set the all-time school record for passing touchdown in the season-opener and broke the career mark for passing yards in Week 3. He finished the year ranked second in the PSAC with a 65.6 completion percentage (230-of-351) while totaling 2,628 passing yards and 19 touchdowns.
Mitchell was tabbed to the All-PSAC West Second-Team in 2018 while garnering PSAC West Freshman of the Year laurels. He became the program’s first freshman quarterback to start a season-opener since 2004 and set the freshman school record with 2,759 passing yards.
Prior to Cal, Mitchell threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 27 touchdowns while at playing at Milford Academy in New York. He was a three-sport athlete at the scholastic level while enrolled at Euclid High School in Ohio near Cleveland. Mitchell was a Division I first-team all-state selection in football as a senior and also played baseball and basketball for the Panthers.
Mitchell earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies from PennWest in 2022 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in teaching education with a concentration in social studies.
