Jason Woodman joins the Vulcans' football coaching staff in 2008 after working with Division I perennial powerhouses Florida State University and Louisiana State University. Woodman will be working with the California University's running backs this season.
Last year, he served on the Bobby Bowden’s staff as the Seminoles reached the Music City Bowl. Woodman worked as the offensive graduate assistant and coached FSU quarterbacks, including Drew Weatherford, who finished the season ranked sixth in the ACC in passing yards.
Prior to working in Tallahassee, Woodman worked three years with the LSU Tigers as a member of Les Miles’ staff. After starting as a volunteer graduate assistant, he eventually assumed offensive graduate assistant duties. In 2006, Woodman was responsible for signal calling and on-field coaching of quarterbacks, including former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell.
Woodman started his coaching career in 1999 at North Marion High School in Farmington, W.Va. While with the Huskies, he coached varsity quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs.
Woodman earned his undergraduate degree in physical and health education from Fairmont State University before enrolling in the sports management program at LSU.
He and his wife, Kari, have a son, Taner.
