David Storino enters his second season as the running backs coach at Cal U. He returned to his alma mater after working two seasons on the staff at Concord (W.Va.) under current Cal U head coach Mike Kellar.
Last season, Storino worked with All-PSAC West First-Team selection Lamont Smith, who became the fourth player in school history with at least 3,000 career rushing yards. The Vulcans had a player reach 100 rushing yards four times and rushed for over 200 yards as a team in back-to-back games.
Storino served as an offensive graduate assistant and video coordinator at Concord in 2009 and 2010. While with the Mountain Lions, Storino coached two-time All-WVIAC First-Team running back Brian Kennedy. The program posted its first back-to-back winning seasons in over a decade with Kennedy eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in both seasons and combining to rush for nearly 30 touchdowns.
At Concord, Storino also coordinated all film exchange and breakdowns, while organizing study tables, tutoring and grade trackers for all players.
Storino previously worked as a student assistant video coordinator at Cal U from 2005-09. He also helped implement the use of the Landro system among the coaches.
