Dave Cole

Dave Cole has made an impact in his five seasons as a coach with the Cal U football program. Cole also serves as the Vulcans’ recruiting coordinator. In each of the last four seasons, the Vulcan defensive backs have helped the team post 15 or more interceptions.

In last season’s run to the NCAA Semifinals, Cole helped coach a secondary that featured two All-PSAC West First-Team selections and was headlined by All-American cornerback Terrence Johnson, who led the team with five interceptions.

In 2007, the Vulcans ranked fifth in the country in pass efficiency defense and was among the national leaders with 18 interceptions. The success of the secondary in 2007 was preceded by back-to-back seasons with 20 and 21 interceptions by the team in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

Cole is a former four-year player and two-year starter for the Vulcans. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2004 before finishing his master’s degree in geography and regional planning at Cal in 2006.

A native of Cincinnati, Cole was a first-team league all-star and earned all-city honors as a defensive back at Winton Woods High School.
