WASHINGTON, Pa. (April 21) – Senior
Colin Patterson delivered a three-run, walk-off triple in the bottom of the ninth inning, as the Vulcans posted a 4-3 victory against Fairmont State in non-conference action at EQT Park on Tuesday afternoon.
NOTES
• California (24-15) registered its third walk-off win in the last 11 days.
• The Vulcans were hosting the Fighting Falcons for the first time since 2013 when the Cal played its lone game over the last two decades on campus at Roadman Park.
• Cal used a trio of pitchers in the contest with freshman
Logan Bauer earning the victory in his college debut with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.
• Redshirt freshman starting pitcher
Jacob Stallsmith took a no-decision after scattering three hits with five strikeouts over 6.0 scoreless innings (71 pitches).
• He entered the game having worked only 1.0 combined inning of relief in two appearances while allowing four runs.

Owen Harriger made his college debut on Tuesday and yielded three runs (all unearned) in 1.2 innings of relief.|
• With the game still scoreless, Fairmont State attempted to advance a runner from first to third on a single but senior right fielder
Connor Evans ended the inning with an outfield assist.
• The Fighting Falcons claimed a 3-0 lead in the top of the eighth on a three-run homer by shortstop Bryont Green.
• Cal answered in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double by senior third baseman
Conor Carney that scored sophomore left fielder
Peyton Ford from first, 3-1.
• The Vulcans loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth on a leadoff single by junior designated hitter
Ikon Jones before the next two batters were hit by pitches.
• Patterson, who entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the seventh, then delivered the walk-off triple to left center on the first pitch of the at-bat.
• Cal was limited to just four hits in the contest with two coming in the ninth inning.
