MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 15) – The California (PA) baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh before earning a 6-5 walk-off victory in extra innings in Game 1 against Mansfield on Saturday afternoon at Mylan Park before completing the doubleheader sweep with a 4-0 win in Game 2.
NOTES
• The Vulcans (11-2) extend their winning streak to six games and have won all five games at Mylan Park this spring.
• Cal played its first extra-inning contest since the final two regular-season games of the 2024 campaign.
• The Vulcans combine to register 13 strikeouts by six pitchers over 15 innings in the doubleheader sweep.
• Cal was facing Mansfield for the first time since the 2012 season.
GAME 1
• Cal trailed by a 5-1 margin before scoring four runs on three hits, one walk, one hit by pitch, and one error in the bottom of the seventh.
• The Vulcans scored a pair of runs following a fielding error with the bases loaded before a walk again loaded the bases.
• Junior designated hitter
Colin Patterson then delivered an RBI single and senior second baseman
Santino Marra then scored the game-tying run on a sacrifice fly.
• In the eighth, freshman shortstop
Peyton Ford started the inning with a double before a bunt single and an intentional walk loaded the bases.
• Senior left fielder
Ryan Callahan then delivered the walk-off RBI single to right field.
• Ford and senior first baseman
Payton Conte both collected three hits and scored one run.
• Callahan finished with two hits, one RBI and one run scored, while sophomore
Conner McTighe reached base three times (two walks, single) and drove in two runs.
• Junior
Jake Kramer (2-0) earned the win after registered a pair of strikeouts in a scoreless eighth inning.
• Mansfield held a 2-0 lead before McTighe tallied a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fourth.
• The Mountaineers reclaimed the lead in the fifth on a two-run homer by first baseman Jacob Houtz and added an unearned run in the seventh.
GAME 2
• Senior
Jackson Miller and sophomore
Josh Bryson combined for the shutout in Game 2.
• Miller (2-0) allowed just a single and walk with four strikeouts over 5.0 scoreless innings (67 pitches).
• Bryson earned his third save of the year with a pair of strikeouts in 2.0 no-hit innings.
• The Vulcans held a 1-0 lead before scoring on a throwing error and a sacrifice fly in the fourth.
• Cal added an insurance run in the sixth on a ground-out after senior third baseman
Nathan Meeks started the inning with a single.
• Meeks finished with two hits, thee runs scored and one walk, while junior right fielder
Connor Evans totaled two hits and one run scored.

• The Vulcans are looking to return to action on Tuesday, March 18, with a single nine-inning contest against Wheeling with location and time to be determined.
