CALIFORNIA (Dec. 16) – The California (PA) women's basketball team recorded its best shooting performance since January 2023 on Tuesday afternoon while rolling to an 82-51 victory against Shippensburg in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Crossover action at the Convocation Center.

• The Vulcans (5-6, 2-0) earned their first home victory this year while winning their fifth-straight home game in the series with the Raiders, dating back to 2013.
• Senior
Alicia Young tied her career high with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting.
• She also added five rebounds, two rebounds and two steals while playing 27 minutes.
• Sophomore
Trinity Balog posted 14 points, five rebounds and five assists against Shippensburg.
• Senior
Kennedy Bankett tallied 13 points and two rebounds off the bench, while sophomore
Hope Hawkins recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Kimaya Williams finished with six points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win.
• The Vulcans mounted a 17-2 run over a four-minute span early in the first quarter behind a combined 15 points by Young and Balog.
• Cal held a 24-8 lead at the end of the first quarter after shooting 11-of-15 from the floor.
• The Vulcans registered 12-unanswered points midway through the second quarter to extend the lead to 38-14 at the 4:05-mark.
• Shippensburg responded with an 11-4 run to close the quarter with Cal holding a 42-25 lead at halftime.
• Midway through the third quarter, the Vulcans went on a 12-3 rally to stretch the lead to a 56-33 advantage with 4:33 left in the quarter.
• Cal later engineered a 22-6 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to build an 80-46 lead with 3:21 remaining.
• The Vulcans finished the game with a .596 field-goal percentage (31-of-52), marking their best shooting performance since eclipsing 60 percent in January 2023.
• Cal held a 37-28 rebounding advantage and scored 50 points in the paint in the victory.
