CALIFORNIA (Jan. 15) – Redshirt junior
Cam Polak scored a career-high 35 points on Wednesday night, as the Vulcans posted a 90-74 win in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West play at the Convocation Center.
NOTES
• California (10-8, 5-5) is tied for third in the PSAC West standings after extending its winning streak to three games.
• Polak scored 35 points on 12-of-18 shooting, including 8-of-11 from beyond the arc.
• His eight three-pointers are the most by a Cal player since Brent Pegram converted eight treys at Slippery Rock on Jan. 6, 2020.
• Polak also collected five rebounds, three assists and one steal while playing 38 minutes.
• Junior
Donald Whitehead, Jr. posted 23 points on 8-of-19 from the floor with four three-pointers, along with five rebounds and eight assists.
• Senior
Kadyn Hannah collected a career-high 14 rebounds (five offensive) and added seven points and three assists.
• Sophomore
Dalman Alexander finished with seven points and six rebounds (five offensive) on Wednesday.
• The Vulcans mounted a 17-5 run early in the first half to build a 21-15 lead with 11:11 left before the break.
• Cal later closed the first half on an 18-5 run, capped by a buzzer beater by Polak from just past halfcourt, to take 46-26 lead.
• The Vulcans stretched the lead to as many as 26 points, 59-53, at the 15:56-mark of the second half.
• Clarion cut the deficit to single digits before Cal seized the momentum with a 12-2 rally to claim a 72-53 lead with 7:57 remaining.
• Cal finished the game shooting at a 47.1 clip (32-of-68) and tied a season high with 14 three-pointers (14-of-33, 42.4 percent).
• The Vulcans held a 45-30 rebounding advantage and scored 21 fastbreak points in the victory.
